For your reference in studying the body muscles, we have provided printable body muscle diagrams for you to download and print. These muscle diagrams show the major superficial and deep muscles of the human body. There are more than 600 muscles in the human body that are attached to bones and makes us able to move or account for human flexibility. Check out the diagram of body muscle anatomy in the first diagram below.
There are three kinds of muscles in our body that we need to know: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle. The skeletal muscle is used for locomotion and skeletal movement. These muscles are often anchored by tendons. The smooth muscles are often found within the organs and structures of organs. These movements tend to be subconscious and help in the normal regulation of the human body. The cardiac muscles are only found within the heart, inside the pericardium sac; therefore detailed knowledge of this muscle collection is not needed when studying osteology. Take a look at the following body muscle diagram below.
The muscular system is responsible for the movement of the human body. Attached to the bones of the skeletal system are about 700 named muscles that make up roughly half of a person’s body weight. All the major muscle groups of the body are shown from front and back. Click on the name of the muscle, or the image, to see weight training exercises. In these muscle diagrams, we have listed a series of the label which shows each muscle.
Each of these muscles is a discrete organ constructed of skeletal muscle tissue, blood vessels, tendons, and nerves. Click on any of these muscles diagrams for a quick print!
