The anatomy of the eye is more complex than you think. Let’s have a quick learn on the eye anatomy with the help of this printable eye anatomy visualization provided on these diagrams of an eye. These diagrams were purposely collected for you to get a better grasp of the anatomy of the eye. To understand the eye and its functions, see below diagrams for both the external eye and the internal eye!
The diagram of the eye shows you the major components of the eye including the cornea, pupil, lens, iris, retina, and sclera. These components work together to capture an image and transmit it directly to the brain’s occipital lobe via the optic nerve. There is a tough white covering called the sclera protects the eye. The cornea is the part that allows light to enter the eye. The iris is the colored part of the eye that contracts and expands so the pupil can let just the right amount of light into the eye.
Light focused by the cornea and crystalline lens then reaches the retina which acts as an electronic image sensor of a digital camera, converting optical images into electronic signals. The optic nerve then transmits these signals to the visual cortex which controls our sense of sight. You can try drawing the eye anatomy by yourself by looking at these eye diagrams.
From the diagrams above, you can learn many important parts in eye anatomy. All of the eye diagrams are printable. You can save and print all of the sheets by clicking on the image of the diagram!
