Printable diagrams of the muscular system are available here to show you the structure of human muscle including the anterior and posterior view –provided with both labeled and unlabeled tags that you can use to learn about the human muscles. Check the organ diagrams in the following images below!
The muscular system is an organ system which permits movement of the body, maintains posture, and circulates blood throughout the body. There are three distinct types of muscles: skeletal muscles, cardiac or heart muscles, and smooth muscles. Muscles provide strength, balance, posture, movement and heat for the body to keep warm. This diagram of the muscular system below shows all the major muscle groups on the human body from anterior and posterior view.
On the anterior and posterior views of the muscular system above, superficial muscles (those at the surface) are shown on the right side of the body while deep. Three types of back muscles that help the spine function are extensors, flexors and obliques. The primary job of muscle is to move the bones of the skeleton, but muscles also enable the heart to beat and constitute the walls of other important hollow organs.
A helpful way to learn the muscles is to look at the picture of the muscle diagram. From the diagrams above, you can save and print all of the sheets with the labeled or unlabeled tags, all your choices!
