The nucleus​ is a membrane-bound structure that contains the cell’s hereditary information and controls the cell’s growth and reproduction. If you notice the structures shown in the nucleus diagram above, there are the ribosome-studded double membranes of the nuclear envelope, the DNA, and the nucleolus.
