In case you are studying about the wave, we have prepared a collection of printable wave diagrams for you with the labels for each wave components that you can save and print for your studying purpose. We will share to you these wave diagrams to help you study more about the wave and its part. Browse the diagrams in the following images and simply click to see the full view.
You can notice on the wave diagram posted above, there are two types of wave: longitudinal and transversal. A longitudinal wave is a wave in which the particles of the medium are displaced in a direction parallel to the direction of energy transport. Meanwhile, a transverse wave is a wave in which the particles of the medium are displaced in a direction perpendicular to the direction of energy transport. The section of the wave that rises above the undisturbed position is called the crest. That section which lies below the undisturbed position is called the trough. You can spot these sections on the diagram above.
As waves travel, they set up patterns of disturbance. The amplitude of a wave is its maximum disturbance from its undisturbed position. The wavelength of a wave is the distance between a point on one wave and the same point on the next wave. It is often easiest to measure this from the crest of one wave to the crest of the next wave, but it doesn’t matter where as long as it is the same point in each wave.
So if you are still learning about the wave structure, you better print and study these diagrams to give you a better understanding of the wave! Print this diagram in case you need to bring it to your class!
